As a courtesy to our patients with insurance, we are happy to submit insurance claims for you. Please bring your insurance card to your first dental visit. We will estimate your co-payment as closely as possible by confirming your benefits. Payment is due at the time of treatment and you will be responsible for the portion not covered by your insurance. Any estimates given are not a guarantee of payment by your insurance. Patients are encouraged to research and understand their dental plan. All services provided are the responsibility of the patient regardless of insurance. If you have any concerns regarding your specific insurance plan and benefits, please call our office to speak with our Insurance Coordinator. We are happy to help you with any questions.
This is a question we are often asked. The answer is yes, we can usually bill most insurance plans, whether we are in-network or out-of-network for them. We are always happy to check your insurance and give you information about your dental plan.
There are several plans Dr. Matlock is contracted with as an “in-network” or Preferred Provider. Currently these plans include: Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon, the Pacific Source Advantage network, and Life Map. If you are interested in staying “in network”, it is always best to check with our office or your insurance representative to verify we are in the dental network for your specific plan. Dr. Matlock is also contracted with Moda (Delta Dental) as a “Premier Provider”. This is not the same as a Preferred Provider who contracts with Delta Dental to provide services to members under a different fee schedule.
Most of our patients who have insurance are signed up with PPO dental insurance plans. If Dr. Matlock is not contracted with your dental plan as an “in-network” PPO provider, we can usually still bill your insurance as an out of network provider. The main difference is that in-network providers have contracted with the insurance company under a different fee schedule. It will sometimes result in higher co-pays if you go out of network, although we have found that the benefits may be the same for many services. As insurance plans have changed over the years, most of our patients have chosen to continue to have their dental treatment in our office regardless of insurance because they value the quality, expertise, and patient care provided by Dr. Matlock.
In an effort to keep dental costs down while maintaining a high level of professional care, we ask that you take care of your fees at the time of treatment. For patients who do not have dental insurance, our office offers a 5% discount for payment in full by cash or check at the time of service. For your convenience, we also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
For patients interested in payment plans, we offer financing through CareCredit. This option helps many of our patients with an affordable monthly payment. We would be happy to answer any questions you have if you would like to take advantage of this financing service.
